Do we want Europe to go down?
I do not like to hear Merkel alarming ”if we miss EURO, it will be also Europe lost"
I hate to hear incapable politicians condemning whole nations.
I hate to read or see covers of magazines with nationalities blaming one another 2000 years a.C.
Politicians start crisis, they also fail to prevail crisis.
I always thought that political leaders failed to narrate the story of the European Union as a story of diffusion of Democracy.
And now what, are we infront of the biggest "existential" test for decades that Europe faces. Merkel said “The issue is precisely to maintain the European idea. This is our historical responsibility. If we miss Euro, it will be also Europe lost ", So this is it? We, the people of Europe can’t do anything?

Is it so?
Europe is the only branch of International Law that succeded in this Planet.
Is the most original political project ever existed.
Is it about an "unfinished nation", an incomplete federal state or more a new type of cosmopolitan project?
Europe is not a faceless impersonal economic space but a society of values.
We are here to see if we can talk to each other as fellow Europeans, not French, Gaerman, Greek, conversatives, or liberals. At some point, we've got to work together or we are doomed to fail.
European plan should become once again synonym of enthousiasm and ambition.
Do we have the will and imagination to save Europe, do we see any Europe?
What will we inherit (our generation)?
I can not imagine Europe without European Union, DO YOU?

Well, unfortunately, the things at the moment are not that bright. Not because of one nation in particular but because of the ones that are diving the European policy and economy.
The problem is that they the ones that have the power do not have the will to build the EU by the rules.
The EU overnight started to be a strange entity without concrete decisions. When there is action required the EU's action either was to late or missing.
On the other hand it let the feelings to steer the future of the block.
You see, the double standards are more obvious now, and it is not right in Europe and in EU to countries to be treated differently.
There ones with very bad economy, and ones that are trying hard but are nowhere near the EU even everything is set for their entering into the union.
Third kind of countries are members but as such because of a political decision. Not that they have met the criteria, for more they even are going even worse with years.
The problem is that there is no unity in the union any more. The countries are way to self protective and are defending their own interests not the union ones.
Greece have to pay for it's mistakes. If there is no punishment others wont be that willing to do changes in their economy knowing the someone will come and save them in the end.
And yes, let Macedonia go. Your actions are absurd!
Hi Mickey!
I can not deny the fact that there is not much cohesion at the EU for the moment.
But lets consider something, in this continent with a history full of wars and blood for million years, 50 years with the Union is almont nothing. It is like yesterday. So, for me that is something, a step forward.
Humans, I think we easily forget how was the situation before..
I am optimist, there is a reason for the Union to exist, with the good and the bad.
Now in relation to your comment about the difference of participation and their ''raison d' etre' within Union, I believe it s a win-win situation for all. For Germany, for Greece, for France, everyone profits from the existence of the other that is why their participation is explained by ''political decision'' as you mention. I think Merkel and Sarcozy know it well as their predecessors knew it.
No? That is not very logic but what is logical in this life?
On the other hand you seem to me as a person who knows and follows global politics so maybe you get my point..
