The British Museum and the destruction of the Iraqi artifacts
British Museum, London.
I am walking with a friend to see the antiquities of the museum, when we
find the following pictures hanging in the hall of near easter
It seems that some people undermine us to that extent that they think we are idiots:n
civilizations

The British Museum, acts like if the UK goverment has nothing to do with Iraq, like if their bosses have nothing to do with the invasion. This is totally unacceptable, much more insulting than the signs in the Parthenon hall, where they say that we have to ..thank Lord Elgin for his ''humanitarian efforts''!

Your views are interesting, however the damages were caused by US military troops and were not under the command of the UK.
Also, the British Museum reported the damages in order to prevent any further incidents, which I personally think was a good a move, since in that way the matter was brought into light.
Finally, the British Museum is well-known about the fact that it has its own voice and opinions on several matters, including the reunion of the marbles.
I think the fact that the British Museum decided to put that sign there shows its disapproval of the destruction of the ancient sites. I would feel more insulted if they hadn't put the sign there and had completely forgotten about what happened in 2005.

Dear Nick,
Certainly your comment is extremely useful and full of valid points. I totally agree that the BM is an independant institution, and perhaps they disaproove the war. What insulted me is the fact that their text is like if you were in a neutral country, like..Switzerland!
